Promoting critical thinking and active solidarity
The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (RLF) considers itself part of the intellectual grassroots movement of democratic socialism. Established in Berlin in 1990, RLF has developed into one of the largest providers of political education in Germany. It also serves as a discussion forum for critical thinking about political alternatives, and a research institute for progressive social development.
The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation is committed to democracy and civic participation based on values like solidarity, social justice, non-violence and peaceful international cooperation. Its Tel Aviv office, established in March 2009, intends to support activities of Israeli non-governmental organizations in the following areas: civic education and culture, higher education and research, communal activities, strengthening civil society and democratic participation, human and civil rights and protection of the environment.
