Cinema Rosa - "Rosenstrasse"

We would like to invite you to our next event in the “Cinema Rosa” film club.

The film is based on historical events in 1943, the “Rosenstrasse Protests”, when Jewish men and relatives of mixed marriages (so called “Mischehen”) were arrested and kept in a building in Rosenstrasse in Berlin. First a few, then more and more wives of the arrested men came to demonstrate in front of the building, demanding the release of their husbands and relatives.
The film tells the fictitious story of one of these women and of a young Jewish girl, whose mother was also among the detainees.
